On October 15-16, the University hosted the Model UN session, organized by the UNHCR Office in the Republic of Belarus, the Faculty of International Relations of the Belarusian State University, the International Organization "Development", the Department of Civil Law Disciplines of the Faculty of Law of the GSU. As part of the event, students plunged into the atmosphere of the UN universal international organization, in particular, they modeled a meeting of the UN Human Rights Council on the issue of economic violence among refugees and forced migrants. Students of the Faculty of Law had the opportunity to consolidate theoretical knowledge in the discipline "International Law", acquire practical competencies, discuss the possibilities of participating in educational events of the Faculty of International Relations of the Belarusian State University.
The event was opened with welcoming speeches of the Dean of the Faculty of Law of the GSU Irina Igorevna Esmantovich, Dean of the Faculty of International Relations of the Belarusian State University Viktor Gennadievich Shadurskiy, UNHCR Representative in the Republic of Belarus Alexander Yatsenko. Associate professors of the Department of Civil Law Disciplines Natalya Vasilievna Kopytkova (Ph.D., Associate Professor) and Elena Anatolyevna Kovaleva (Ph.D., Associate Professor) became experts on the issues of ensuring the socio-economic rights of refugees and forced migrants.
