On November 2, the 27th session of the Gomel Regional Council of Deputies took place, which was attended by the Rector of the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University, deputy of the Gomel Regional Council of Deputies Sergei Khakhomov.
One of the key issues on the agenda was the decision on monetary bonuses for athletes and their coaches for high achievements in prestigious sports competitions. Moral and material encouragement will be given to athletes who have won medals at the Olympic, Paralympic, Deflympic, European Games, as well as world and European champions.
Pavel Starosvetskij, head of the Sports and Tourism Department of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee, told reporters that about 40 coaches and 30 athletes received this award. At the moment, the approach to awarding has changed, and will cover a larger number of trainers.
