New Delhi hosted Women's World Boxing Championship on November 12 – 25, 2018. 227 sportsmen from 62 countries took part in the contest.
Seven representatives of the Republic of Belarus participated in this competition, five of them are members of Gomel regional Olympic reserve center of combat sport. These are masters of sports of the Republic of Belarus of international class – Yana Burim, Victoria Kebikova, Galina Bruevich, Yulia Apanasovich, Antonina Aksenova, students of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University (speciality “Physical Culture”).
Victoria Kebikova won a bronze medal (weight category up to 81 kg). This is the first award of the World Championship in the history of Belarusian women's boxing. The athletes are trained by Igor Figurenko, the senior coach of the national team. Igor Figurenko graduated from our university with a degree in physical education and is recognized as one of the most respected mentors in the country.
