An international scientific and practical online conference “Scientific heritage of academician I.F. Kharlamov" was held at the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University on 4-5 June. It was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the doctor of pedagogical sciences, full member of the USSR Academy of Pedagogical Sciences I.F. Kharlamov. The event brought together about 100 famous scientists, educational practitioners from Belarus, Russia and Ukraine. Outstanding Belarusian scientist I.F. Kharlamov made a significant scientific contribution to the development of theoretical and methodological foundations of training and education. His works are well known to the wide scientific and pedagogical community in our country, as well as in the countries of near and far abroad. The scientist has researched the issues of increasing the effectiveness of teaching: he was worried about the issues of multidisciplinary curriculum, overloading of curricula, liberalism in the assessment of knowledge, imperfection of students' independent educational work. In the 90s he actively studied the problems of improving the pedagogical training of students and improving the quality of pedagogical practice.
The conference was opened by the Vice-Rector for Scientific Work of the University, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor O.M. Demidenko. The Dean of the faculty of psychology and pedagogy V. A. Beizerov made a welcoming speech to the participants of the conference. During the plenary session, students of I. F. Kharlamov, including Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor F. V. Kadol, and Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, associate Professor V. P. Gorlenko, presented extensive materials that reflected the scientific heritage of I. F. Kharlamov and the possibility of applying the works of the outstanding Belarusian scientist in modern pedagogical realities.
The conference was organized with the support of the university partners - the Central Regional Organization of the ROO "Belaya Rus" and IP A.V. Chubrik.
