Project Objectives
1) Development of a new modular master's program that meets the labor market requirements for the developing nuclear industry and its infrastructure in Belarus;
2) Improvement of master's degree programs at six Belarusian universities to provide an advanced level of training in radiation safety and the development of a nuclear safety culture in society;
3) Updating competencies in the field of nuclear knowledge by updating the methodological support of curricula and educational programs in close cooperation with European universities with the help of advanced information and communication technologies, as well as networking of partner universities and personnel customers.
Planned Results:
The role of the Faculty of Physics and Information Technology, as a project partner, is:
- in the development and modernization of academic disciplines for master's students of the Faculty;
- in updating the curricula;
- purchasing laboratory equipment, hardware and software;
- organizing the internships for master's students and teachers of the faculty in the partner universities of the project;
- in the distribution and implementation of new training programs and courses;
RADIUM is an Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) project funded and managed by the European Commission managed by its Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA). Its overall aim is to promote qualified education in Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Culture (RP&NSC) in the Republic of Belarus to ensure a safe use of nuclear power in Europe.
RADIUM is in line with the key priorities of the National Program “Education and Youth Policy” for 2016-2020 (subprogram “Specialists Training for nuclear energy” and subprogram “Development of the system of higher education”), as well as to the Decree of the Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus “Conceptual approaches to the development of the education system of the Republic of Belarus till 2020 and for the future till 2030” (November 29, 2017, N 742).
