The Republican competition of professional skills of pedagogical workers "Teacher of the Year of the Republic of Belarus - 2020" was held in our country. The Gomel region at the final stages was represented by a graduate of the Faculty of Geology and Geography Losev Vadim Olegovich, a teacher of geography at the State Educational Institution “Secondary School No. 19 in Gomel”.
The most difficult and eventful events were the final and super final of the competition. Teachers from all over the country demonstrated their skills in conducting master classes, press conferences, testing, etc. Only 8 out of 56 best teachers of the republic reached the superfinal.
Vadim Losev defended the idea of introducing intellectual games and geographic quizzes into the educational process of geography lessons. He won the jury, which included 50 honored teachers of the Republic of Belarus.
Summing up the results of the competition took place on October 2 at the Palace of the Republic. A geographer by profession and vocation, an intellectual, a creative young teacher Losev Vadim Olegovich became the owner of a crystal crane, a new car, and the honorary title "Teacher of the Year of the Republic of Belarus - 2020".
Vadim Olegovich was active in all the activities of the university even in his student years. He was distinguished by his sociability, artistry, creativity. Many of his students became students of our faculty. This was facilitated by the teacher's talent to awaken interest in a favorite subject.
Teachers and students of the Faculty of Geology and Geography watched with excitement all the stages of the difficult and so significant for teachers competition. And today we can proudly say that our graduates are professionals in their field, the best teachers!
- For the first time, the "Crystal Crane" flies to the Gomel region. I would like to share the award with all the teachers of the country who come to their schools every day and inspire thousands of students with their example and work. I was inspired by my teacher of geography Olga Ivanovna Mitrakhovich. I also want to give thanks to the Government and the Head of State for holding the competition, - the winner shares his impressions.
The most touching and unexpected moment in the speech of the young geographer Vadim Losev was the marriage proposal to his girlfriend. – There is a man in the hall who owns 51 percent of my heart. Olga Leonidovna Klimovich, be my wife!
The audience exploded with sincere emotions, and the future winner’s bride said "yes.". The audience is delighted: the bride said yes. His guests will remember this holiday for a long time!
