On October 29, at the Faculty of Mathematics and Programming Technologies, an English-language webinar "How to Enter IT" was held for 1st and 2nd year students. The seminar was held by representatives of the leading IT company of the Gomel region "IBA-Gomel-Park" - the head of the department of solutions for information and infrastructure management, Itskhaki Lavi, and the chief specialist of the department, Elena Mezheinikova.
Itskhaki Lavi and Elena Mezheinikova presented students with the main directions of development of the IT industry in the world in English. The issues of competent drawing up of an IT specialist's resume and correct behavior during an interview were covered in detail. The speakers spoke in detail about each of the main IT professions and the requirements for them. Students took an active part in the webinar, asked questions to the speakers in English.
It is almost impossible to get a job in any IT company without knowledge of English. In large IT companies they speak English not only to negotiate with customers , but also to communicate within the team when working on projects. Therefore, it is impossible for a student who does not speak English properly to become a competitive modern IT specialist.
We are grateful to the representatives of the IBA-Gomel-Park company for long-term cooperation and joint work to improve the quality of teaching IT disciplines and English to students of IT specialties of the Faculty of Mathematics and Programming Technologies.
