On April 18, an unusual event took place at the Faculty of Philology: in the auditorium 2-23 – the Confucius Chinese Studies room – a friendly meeting of Chinese students studying in the specialty “Russian Philology” with Belarusian philology students studying Chinese took place. The meeting was also attended by very young Sinologists – students of Gymnasium No. 10, studying Chinese under the guidance of a philologist student Alina Morozova.
Welcoming those present, the Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Elena Poluyan, stressed the symbolic nature of this meeting, which is attended by Belarusian students who, for the first time in the history of the faculty, have started studying Chinese as a specialty language.
The meeting itself, organized by the staff of the Confucius Institute Vladimir Koval, Tatiana Silchenko and Dmitry Gorbachev, was of a creative nature: both Chinese and Belarusian students prepared small presentations in which they talked about their hometowns, about their families, about their hobbies, about the culture and natural conditions of their homeland. At the same time, the Chinese presented their performances in Russian, and Belarusian students - in Chinese. Yulia Lukashova, a Chinese language teacher, provided great assistance to our children in preparing their speeches.
It turned out that Chinese and Belarusian students have a lot in common in their views on life: young people talk about relatives and friends, are fond of modern music and literature, and love pets very much. It turned out, for example, that the hobby of the head of Chinese students Zhang Yuting is national cooking, which was convincingly demonstrated by the student, treating those present with pancakes of their own cooking. And Li Tiancheng likes to draw people, and his interesting drawings are made in an unusual manner. Belarusian Chinese girls - Angelina Milentyeva, Victoria Chekan, Maria Yezhova – have also been engaged in drawing for a long time. Everyone agreed that in the near future it is necessary to organize an exhibition of drawings dedicated to the creativity of Chinese and Belarusian students.
All participants of the meeting received T-shirts with the logo of the Confucius Institute as souvenirs. The end of the meeting was a sweet table.
It was unanimously decided to hold such good, homely events in the future, which will strengthen friendship and mutual understanding between Belarusian and Chinese students.
