A girl from the city of Bengbu, Anhui Province, China, with a height of 160 centimeters, grew curls almost 130 cm long . She told the correspondent of “Gomelskay praydy” about the secrets and difficulties of care.
Low Yulu is 21 years old. She says that she does not feel the weight of the hairstyle. I didn't grow it on purpose and didn't set goals for myself, it just happened that way. And it's not about genetics: no one in the family has such a luxurious head of hair.
Low Yulu likes it when a luxurious mop of hair falls down in waves. Photo from the personal archive of Low Yulu.
– Long, well–groomed and beautiful hair is my style, a part of me, – the girl admits. It is not surprising that a Chinese woman with such a mop invariably attracts the attention of passers-by. As she herself admitted, strangers react positively when they see her, are surprised and admired, ask to be photographed, make compliments. Some do not believe, argue: real or grown-up. When I asked if she plans to grow even longer braids, she smiles and answers that this length suits her. True, sometimes there is a desire to say goodbye to curls and cut them off to the shoulders, but after thinking about it, he refuses such a thought. The last time I trimmed the tips six years ago.
Many girls dream of volume and length, but not everyone realizes that this can bring a lot of household inconveniences. For Low Yulu, it's okay to sit on her hair or catch them on the door handle. Admits that it's hard with them in winter and in strong winds. In the first case, they are very electrified, and in the second they are very confused. It's also unbearably hot in summer. But the girl is sure that beauty requires sacrifice and patience.
As for daily care, then, according to the Chinese woman, the process is the most ordinary, only it takes much more time. For example, it takes about 1.5 hours to wash your hair. It takes about the same amount for the strands to dry. The procedure is repeated every five days. It is amazing that she copes with this difficult task without outside help. Admits that she is used to it and it does not cause much trouble. Almost never uses a hair dryer and has never dyed her hair. Plus, there are no “irons” and, varnishes and gels. Buys mostly 500-milliliter bottles of shampoo, as it runs out quickly. The only secret: uses a lot of conditioner, which helps protect the hair and simplifies combing. Takes a shower in the evening so that the hair dries naturally.
The girl recently arrived in Gomel, where she continues her studies at Francisk Skorina Gomel State University. After graduation, she will receive the qualification “Philologist. Teacher of Russian language and literature. Specialist in computer philology”. Today, 35 Chinese students and undergraduates are studying at the Faculty of Philology.
– In 2015, our university and the Shanghai Professional Institute of Industry, Commerce and Foreign Languages signed an agreement on joint training of specialists, – explained the Dean of the Faculty of Philology Elena Poluyan. – Students have been studying at the Shanghai Institute for two and a half years, two at Francisk Skorina Gomel State University. Upon graduation, graduates will become qualified specialists with two diplomas: Belarusian and Chinese. Some continue their studies in the master's program.
– There are kind and open people here who are ready to help. I really like the city and studying at the university,” Low Yulu admits.
However, she is not yet used to the local cuisine. But at the same time, I have already appreciated the sausages in the dough and samsa from the student buffet, I like Belarusian sausage and yoghurts. He says that pork is much cheaper here than in China. The girl became noticeably sad when it came to home and parents, to whom she does not often come, because the journey to Bengbu takes two or three days. But how much joy when the family gets together. By the way, she brings her relatives gifts from Belarus – chocolate, which is not only delicious, but also cheap by Chinese standards.
Here is such an unusual and open girl, Low Yulu, a real modern Rapunzel. She honors national traditions and respects Belarusian culture. Who knows, maybe in the future a Chinese woman will enter the top 10 owners of the longest hair in the world. Let's grow it – we'll see.
