Students from the Faculty of Philology participated in the final round of the 7th Belarussian Republican Student Olympiad in Chinese Language. On March 14-15, 2024, the final round of the 7th Belarussian Republican Student Olympiad in Chinese Language took place at the RIKK BSU.
95 students from higher educational institutions of the republic participated in the Olympiad. Francisk Skorina Gomel State University presented three students from the Faculty of Philology – Maria Yezhova (RI-31), Darya Drozdova, Aleksandra Mukhina (RI-21). The team was led by Angelina Aleksandrovna Aksyonchikova-Biryukova, an assistant of the chair of Russian, general and Slavic linguistics.
The Olympiad consisted of two rounds: a written part and oral part. The students showed good results and based on the jury’s decision Maria Yezhova was recognized as the best participant from Gomel region!
The winners were congratulated by Hu Yunbo, the Second Secretary of the Department of Science, Education and Culture at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Belarus.
In the free time the girls continued to explore the culture of China and visited the fascinating exhibition “My heart is purified as I walk along a clean river…” at the National Art Museum. The exhibition includes over 80 works from the collection of decorative and applied arts of the East at the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus (wooden, porcelain and bronze sculptures, costume elements, traditional Chinese paintings and calligraphy).
