From April 3 to 5, the Open Judo Cup of the Republic of Belarus took place at the Olympian sports complex in Mogilev.
More than 200 athletes took part in the competition. Medals were competed in individual tournaments and among mixed teams.
On the final day of the competition, the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Belarusian Judo Federation, Vadim Sinyavsky, visited and presented awards to the winners.
The Gomel region team took second place in the team competition.
Students of the Faculty of Physical Education of our university made a significant contribution to the team’s fund.
The gold medal was won by Polina Slesarenko (63 kg) and Andrey Shimbalev (90 kg).
Alexandra Tsarenkova (48kg) took second place, and Vepa Azizov (66kg) became the bronze medalist of the tournament.
