From November 19 to 21, the Gomel Hockey Club stayed in Aalborg, Denmark. The rivals of the "lynx" in the semi-final tournament of the Continental Cup were the local "Aalborg", the British "Sheffield" and the Latvian "Olympus".
In the first match of the tournament, our hockey players managed to win over the Latvian "Olympus" with a score of 3:1. In the next match, the Gomel squad lost 2-5 to the local "Aalborg".
In the final meeting of the semifinal round, Gomel needed a victory over Sheffield with a difference of at least three goals. Thanks to the puck thrown by a student of the Faculty of Physical Culture of our university, Ivan Sekerin, the lynx coped with the task. Maxim Lubsky, a fourth–year student of the Faculty of Physical Training of GSU, pleased with a decent game and "dried up" the gates of his team.
With the final score of the match 4:0, our hockey players secured a ticket to the decisive stage of the European tour, which will be held from January 7 to 9, 2022.
We are proud of our guys! We are rooting for them! Keep it up!
