Priority directions of the development of the legal system of the society were considered and discussed not only by Gomel representatives of lawyers, but also by honorary guests from near and far abroad.
Andrei Kruk, First Vice-rector of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University, delivered a welcoming speech at the opening of the conference. The conference was attended by Denis Drobyshevsky, Deputy Head of the Department of Enforcement of the Main Department of Justice of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee – Head of the Department of Organization and Control of Enforcement, Prosecutor of Gomel, Senior Adviser of Justice Yuri Bulynko, Deputy Head of the Department – Head of the Department for the Investigation of crimes against the interests of the service and the order of execution of military duty of the investigative Department of the Soviet Committee of the Republic of Belarus for the Gomel region, Lieutenant Colonel of Justice Sergei Shpak, Dean of the Faculty of Law of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Irina Esmantovich.
The conference discussed topical issues of law-making and law enforcement activities in the following areas:
- trends in the interaction of the national legal systems of the CIS member states and the international community, the integration of generally recognized principles and norms of international law and international treaties into Belarusian legislation;
- theory and practice of criminal prosecution in the light of the reform of criminal and criminal procedure legislation;
- the current state of criminological science in the context of digital transformation;
- forensic support for the disclosure and investigation of crimes: problems and prospects;
- actual problems and prospects of civil and economic law and process;
- actual problems and prospects of labor and social law;
- ways to improve constitutional and administrative processes;
- legal support for the development of the information society and the electronic state, and others.
The conference was attended by about 50 participants from the Republic of Belarus, the Russian Federation, Italy, including representatives of the academic sphere, law enforcement agencies, justice authorities, courts, lawyers and notaries.
Topical issues of protecting the labor rights of citizens in the old industrial region were highlighted by Merzlyakova Tatyana– Commissioner for Human Rights in the Sverdlovsk Region, Chairman of the Commission on Personal Rights of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights (member of the HRC), member of the Expert Council at the Bank of Russia for the Protection of the Rights of Consumers of Financial Services (Yekaterinburg, Russia). Activities of the enforcement bodies of the Republic of Belarus in society and the state - Denis Drobyshevsky – Deputy Head of the Department – Head of the Department of Organization and Control of Enforcement of the Main Department of Justice of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee (Gomel, Belarus). Ryabinina Tatiana in online format, Head of the Department of Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics of the Federal State Educational Institution of Higher Education.
“Southwestern State University”, Doctor of Law, Professor (Kursk, Russia) highlighted Russian and foreign experience in the legal regulation of the procedure for appointing a court session (to the 20th anniversary of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation), Klyuchko Rimma (in onlineformat), Head of the Department of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics of Yanka Kupala Grodno State University, Candidate of Law, Associate Professor (Grodno, Belarus) revealed criminal legal means of countering socially dangerous information acts: trends in the development of the legislation of the Republic of Belarus. Kirill Leonidovich Tomashevsky, Professor of the Department of Civil Law Disciplines and Trade Union Work at MITSO International University, Doctor of Law, Professor (Minsk, Belarus) analyzed atypical forms of employment and trends towards their expansion in the EAEU countries. Konin Vladimir, Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal Procedure Law of the North-Western Branch of the Russian State University of Justice (St. Petersburg, Russia) paid attention to the disclosure and investigation of the crime, as well as types of counteraction to the investigation. Doctor of Philosophy of Frederick II University of Naples (Naples, Italy) Ubaldo Nadzaro and Michelangelo Pascali revealed the issues of urban security in the Italian criminal system and socio-legal profiles of cybercrime.
During the international round table “In Service to Themis and Society: pages of V.D. Spasovich's life and work”, which discussed the study of V.D. Spasovich's creative heritage at Francisk Skoriina Gomel State University, the place of V.D. Spasovich's activity in the socio-cultural life of post-reform Russia, his research on the legal regulation of property relations of spouses in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
At the end of the three-day meeting, they conducted familiarization tours of the university, at JSC Gomel PO “Kristal”, and also carried out memorable photo sessions.
