On the eve of the celebration of the National Unity Day on September 17, the Gomel Palace and Park Ensemble hosted a round table "National Unity Day as a symbol of the consolidation of the Belarusian people" with the participation of the Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Natal'ja Kochanovaja and other senior officials, heads, representatives of organizations and institutions, public associations.
All regions of our republic participated in the teleconference, which presented their historical features and unique artifacts of the period of the reunification of Belarus and the formation of a unified Belarusian statehood.
The speakers of the round table, among whom were the rector of the Academy of Management under the President of the Republic of Belarus Vjacheslav Danilovich, the Minister of Education Igor' Karpenko, the editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Belarus Today" Dmitrij Zhuk and other representatives highlighted the historical realities of the period when Belarus gained its sovereignty, drew attention to the modern imperatives for strengthening the independence of our country and the lessons that we need to learn from the past of our history.
The Gomel Region was represented by the Deputy Chairman of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee Vladimir Privalov and the Deputy General Director, director of the museum of the Gomel Palace and Park Ensemble Oksana Toropova.
