The team of SNIL "Financier and Banker" took the 1st place in the International Interuniversity Economic Olympiad "Business Analysis and Risk Management", which was held in March-April this year at the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics. The Olympiad was attended by 51 teams from 23 Russian and foreign universities.
At the competitions F. Skorina Gomel State University was represented by Master’s degree students of the specialty "Finance, taxation and credit": Anastasia Sidorova, Marina Nazarova, Elizaveta Pevneva. Scientific supervisor - Head of the Department of Finance and Credit, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Larisa Vladimirovna Dergun.
The Olympiad was held in two stages. At the first online stage (April 5), the participants solved tests cases in business analysis, risk management, economic theory, accounting and information support for business analysis, financial monitoring and financial mathematics. According to the results of the individual classification, the team "Financier and Banker" went forward to a second round of voting, and Anastasia Sidorova showed the 3rd result among all the participants.
The second stage (April 10) consisted in solving and presenting the case, the tasks of which were developed by the International Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
According to the results of the Olympiad, the team "Financier and Banker" of Gomel State University took the 1st place among the Master's students! Such an excellent result is evidence of the international recognition of the high quality of training in the Master's program in the specialty "Finance, Taxation and Credit" and, of course, the merit of the entire teaching staff of the Department of Finance and Credit.
