Head of the Department of Russian and World Literature, Professor of the Academy of Military Sciences of Russia Ivan Afanasyev became one of the authors of the collection “About Granin: Memories”, which received the Grand Prix of the All-Russian (National) contest “Book of the Year-2019”.
The collection got the main publishing house award of the Russian Federation and was published in St. Petersburg publishing house Vita Nova in 2019. The book was edited by the daughter of the writer – Marina Chernysheva-Granina. At her invitation Ivan Afanasyev published memories of his meetings with Daniil Granin and his enormous contribution to the perpetuation of the memory of Gomel hero Alexander Lizyukov.
This year, 110 Russian publishing houses and more than 400 books took part in the contest “Book of the Year-2019”.
