May 16 was marked by the anniversary of the Associate Professor of Optics, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor Anna Nikolaevna Godlevskaya. Anna Nikolaevna was born on May 16 in Gomel in a family of workers. Since childhood, she loved to play school with her friends, dreamed of becoming a teacher. In 1957, she entered the first class of secondary school No. 6 of Gomel, where she graduated with a gold medal.
– The school had a very friendly teaching staff, headed by Ignat Akimovich Erofeenko, who knew not only every student of the school, but also his parents, – Anna Nikolaevna recalls. – Moreover, in each student, the teachers noticed his good traits, they relied on the best qualities of the children in their upbringing, and worked closely with their parents.
At the end of school, she passed the entrance exam in physics with a mark of “five,” and it made unnecessary to take other exams. Since September 1967 she became a student. After completing the third year, she was awarded a Lenin scholarship, and such a decision was made after each semester – until her graduation with a diploma with honors.
– Today we are surprised that students of the same course sometimes do not know each other at all. In our student years, this was impossible. Our socialization was perfectly organized: in September we quickly got to know each other while we were digging potatoes and picking apples in the Chechersky district, and during all our years of study we had a lot of common affairs and interests.
While studying at the university, she took part in amateur performances, was engaged in athletics, was a deputy and later the secretary of the Komsomol bureau of the faculty, a member of the Komsomol committee of the university. She continued to head the Komsomol organization of the faculty for a year after she was assigned to work as an assistant at the Department of General Physics. Even before starting work at the department, she had an internship as an assistant to the senior technical secretary of the selection committee and over the next two years she supervised the work of the technical secretariat, and then repeatedly worked as a member of the examination commissions in physics during the admission campaign. After the opening of the department of optics, she was transferred to its staff, and successively held the positions of assistant, senior teacher, assistant professor. For many years, she helped the head of the department: she oversaw the educational and methodological, ideological work of the teachers of the department, as well as the research work of students. In October 1991 she defended her thesis at the Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of the BSSR. Since 1995, she has been the Scientific Secretary of the Council for the Defense of Ph.D. A.N. Godlevskayais the co-author of the Ph.D. exam program in optics approved by the Higher Attestation Commission of Belarus. Member of the jury of the regional and republican physics Olympiads. The republican contest-game in physics "Zubrenok" was resumed at her initiative, she had been developing tasks for a number of years for this contest-game.
A.N. Godlevskaya successfully leads the student’s scientific and methodological work at the Department of Optics: repeatedly, student research works carried out under her leadership were awarded with diplomas of I, II, and III degrees at national competitions of student research papers, the author of one work was awarded the title of Laureate.
– Anna Nikolaevna Godlevskaya is respected in the pedagogical circles of our republic, among teachers, students and employees of the faculty and university. She currently gives or has previously given lecture courses in atomic physics and atomic phenomena, optics, and special courses. She is a co-author of the textbook "Physics of Atom and Atomic Phenomena", recommended by Academic Methodological Association in science education for university students. Throughout the years of work, she has been actively involved in the public life of the university. Colleagues and students consider Anna Nikolaevna a talented and demanding teacher. She repeatedly became the owner of awards of various levels, - said the Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Information technologies Dmitry Leonidovich Kovalenko.
