Several topics - such as the results of the work of the Skorina State University for the last year, the results of the admission campaign, personnel and organizational issues, as well as the priority tasks of the university for the 2020-2021 academic year - were discussed at an expanded meeting of the University Council.
Traditionally, the meeting began with honoring the outstanding workers of the university. The highest university award - the Certificate of Honor - was awarded to Sergei Shalupaev and Evgeny Shershnev. Alexander Vasiliev was awarded with the Certificate of Honor of the Higher Attestation Commission, Tatyana Shatyuk - with the Certificate of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus. The certificates of conferring the academic title of professor were presented to Nikolai Mezga and Angela Melnikova, certificates of conferring the academic title of associate professor to Tatyana Senkova, Mikhail Tishkevich, Maria Samonova, Vitaly Sidsky and Dmitry Baranov.
The key issue on the agenda was the discussion of the main goals and activities of the university in the new academic year. Speaking to the team, the rector of GSU Sergey Khakhomov outlined the tasks that the university faces today. In his speech, the rector highlighted the problems of improving the quality of research work, outlined the directions of ideological and educational work, touched upon the issues of personnel and salary policy of GSU. Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Igor Semchenko made a report on the results of the university's accreditation. During the University Council, other issues of the life of the university were considered.
