Student years are not only lectures, seminars, exams, but also a rich social, cultural and sports life. Great attention is paid to the disclosure of the sports potential of students and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle at our university: competitions in various sports are held at GSU, the sports base is constantly being strengthened. A significant event in the life of the university was the commissioning of the renovated sports and recreation complex, the opening ceremony of which took place on September 16. First vice-rector of GSU Andrey Kruk addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. In his speech, he expressed gratitude to the Faculty of Physical Education, especially the Department of Physical Education and Sports, for the comprehensive support of talented children - the sports hopes of the university. “The opening of the new complex is another step towards unlocking the potential of our students,” noted the Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture Sergey Sevdalev. “I am convinced that now we will be able to educate even more future champions”.
Olympic champion in judo Igor Makarov and medalist of the European Youth Championship in weightlifting, master of sports of international class Artem Shagov congratulated the faculty on this significant event. The renovated sports and recreation complex is a spacious, bright room with special exercise equipment, which allows you to work out all muscle groups. This complex will become an excellent base for students for strengthening their health, productive training and achieving high results.
