On an expanded scale at Fransick Skorina Gomel State University together with the state institution "National Agency for Tourism" an online seminar "The role of a guide in the development of tourism in the Republic of Belarus" was held. The event was organized under the support of specialized government bodies - the Sports and Tourism Department of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee and the Sports and Tourism Department of the Gomel City Executive Committee with the participation of representatives of the historical and cultural institutions of the Gomel Region.
The participants of the online seminar, the purpose of which is to develop human resources for the tourism industry of the Gomel region of the Republic of Belarus, as well as to foster the sense of patriotism and love for the homeland, were students of the history, geological-geographical and economic faculties of the university.
Pavel Anatolyevich Sapotko, Director of the State Institution “National Agency for Tourism”, addressed the participants of the seminar with a welcoming speech on the topic “Trends and prospects of development of the Tourism Industry of the Republic of Belarus”. From the side of Gomel University, the Dean of the Faculty of History Stanislav Aleksandrovich Cherepko also expressed his greetings to the participants. The head of the tourism sector Olga Dmitrievna Kotenkova spoke on the part of the Sports and Tourism Department of Gomel Regional Executive Committee. Olga Dmitrievna also presented to the participants of the seminar a new video "Gomel - ideal for you".
At the online seminar, reports were presented by Elena Vladimirovna Likhimovich, Deputy Director of the National Agency for Tourism, and Anna Nikolaevna Voshchinchuk, Head of the Quality and Educational and Analytical Work Department, on the preparation of professional certification for the qualifications of a guide and guide-translator, and the peculiarities of working in the tourism industry, recommendations for the creation and development of the tourist image of our country. The online seminar was held in a friendly atmosphere of an interactive format, aroused a keen interest among the participants. It will undoubtedly contribute to the development of our students!
