From March 30 to March 31, the championship of the Republic of Belarus in women's freestyle wrestling among young people up to 23 years old was held on the basis of the Olympic training center Stayki. About 150 best athletes of the country who fought in twenty weight divisions took part in the competition. The athletes of the Gomel region topped the overall standings and showed a good result, managed to score 155 points in male divisions and took the third place, and the girls won "silver". It is especially joyful that students of the specialty "Physical Culture" of our University made a significant contribution to the overall standings.
The main heroines were the first-year student Arina Martynova (up to 59 kg) and Natallia Belskaya (up to 68 kg). The 2nd year student Nadezhda Bulanaya (up to 63 kg) took the second place. The 1year student Aleksey Parkhomenko (up to 97 kg) managed to win "gold"! The student of 4th year Vladislav Osipenko (+100) became a bronze medalist of the tournament. Congratulations to our wrestlers and wish them further success!
