The team of the student research laboratory "Start" (research advisor - Melnikov S.V.) of the Department of Theory and Methods of Physical Culture took 3rd place in the International student Olympiad in physical culture dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Institute of Physical Culture and Sports (Orenburg State Pedagogical University, Russian Federation). Student teams of higher professional education and sport professional education in physical culture profile from Russia and neighboring countries took part in the Olympiad. The GSU team was represented by 4th year students of the Faculty of Physical Education: Vladislav Ovsyannikov, Polina Gritseva, Denis Kuzmin.
The Olympiad was held remotely from March 1 to March 28, 2021 in order to popularize physical education among youth students and was aimed at solving the following tasks: identifying and developing students' intellectually- creative abilities and practical skills in the field of physical culture and sports; as well as promoting the professional self-determination of students.
The Olympiad program included 2 stages : theoretical and methodical stage, consisting of two tasks, and practice-oriented stage. The team and its members were awarded with Diplomas. The head of the IFCiS sports club Victoria Besputina expressed gratitude to the head of the team Ekaterina Aleksandrovna Kobets, the senior teacher of the Department of Theory and Methods of Physical Culture, for the high level of team preparation and the development of an innovative sports and education territory.
