On June 8, started the World Modern Pentathlon Championship in the Egyptian capital. 7 sets of awards were played in Cairo. In the women's relay, competed 11 of the best teams in the world. This discipline includes fencing, swimming, show jumping, running and shooting (an athlete shoots at several stages while running over a distance). The first gold medal of the largest sports forum was won by Belarusians! The best in the relay was the team of Gomel girls Olga Silkina and Irina Prosentsova. Our girls scored 1395 points. The second place was taken by pentathlon race athletes from Russia (1383), the top three winners were closed by an athlete from Hungary (1343). Olga Silkina is a graduate of the Faculty of Physical Education of Gomel State University, Master of Pedagogical Sciences, Honored Master of Sports of the Republic of Belarus, world champion in 2019 in the individual competition. Today, on June 9, Yevgeny Orel, member of the National Team of the Republic of Belarus, the 4th year student of the Faculty of Physical Culture, international master of sports of the Republic of Belarus will take part in the men's relay and in the individual competition.
