The Cup of the Republic of Belarus in judo was held from September 23 to 25 in the hall of game sports of the Olympic Sports Complex in Mogilev. More than 100 athletes took part in the competition, among them the strongest judoists from all regions of the country. According to the results of the final fights, the Gomel region, whose honor was defended by students of the Faculty of Physical Culture of our university, took second place in the team competition, losing to Minsk residents and leaving behind the national team from Vitebsk.
Three gold medals were won by our judoists. The winners were 3rd year student Ul'jana Minenkova (57kg), sophomore Polina Slesarenko (63kg) and master's student Egor Trukhan (73kg). First-year student Alexandra Konovalova (48kg) rose to the second step of the podium, and graduate of the Faculty of Physical Culture Victoria Kurlovich (63kg) became the bronze medalist of the competition. Congratulations to the guys on a wonderful performance and wish them further achievements on the tatami!
