Faculty of Physical Training of F. Skorina Gomel State University co-organized the All-Russian scientific and practical conference "Modern problems of physical training and sports", dedicated to the 145th anniversary of the birth of the native of Yelets, the first Russian Olympic medalist A.P. Petrov (Yelets, Russia).
The conference was opened by the Rector of the Yelets State University named after I.A. Bunin, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Gerasimova Evgeniya Nikolaevna and the Head of the Yelets City District Evgeny Borovskikh.
The main directions of the conference were: physical education of various categories of the population; sports training by sports; history of physical culture and sports, sports local lore, biographies of athletes; veteran sports; adaptive physical culture; motor recreation; physical rehabilitation.
The head of the Department of Theory and Methodology of Physical Training, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Evgenij Osipenko made a welcoming speech and a scientific report on the topic "Arm wrestling in physical education of students".
The conference was actively attended by students, undergraduates, teaching staff of the Faculty of Physical Culture of the F. Skorina Gomel State University. The scientists exchanged the results of their latest developments, and also considered possible areas of cooperation and online internship programs for teachers and students.
