In the period from December 19 to 23, the delegation of the Gomel region paid a working visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The trip was organized by the Gomel branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Hungary. Bosnia and Herzegovina is a European country consisting of two state entities - the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republika Srpska. In this connection, meetings were scheduled with representatives of each of the parts of this country. The delegation included representatives of enterprises, healthcare and educational institutions of the Gomel region. the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University was represented by Stanislav Charopka, Dean of the Faculty of History and Intercultural Communications. A number of high-level meetings were held with the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Hungary Alexander Ponomarevym, as well as with the Prime Minister of the Republika Srpska Radovan Vishkovich.
On December 20, a business forum was held in Sarajevo, the capital of the Federation, at which the business circles of the region and representatives of the universities of the region were represented. On December 21, a business forum was held in Banja Luka, the capital of the second entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina - Republika Srpska. The negotiations resulted in the signing of several agreements on cooperation in trade, education and tourism. In particular, an agreement was concluded between the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University and Burch International University (Sarajevo) and the State University named after F. Skaryna and the University of Banja Luka. Both universities expressed interest in close cooperation, which is the basis for the implementation of joint projects in the future.
