On June 2, the opening of the VI International Scientific and Practical Conference “Cross-border cooperation in the field of environmental safety and environmental protection” took place at Francisk Skorina Gomel State University.
The organizers of the scientific event were Francisk Skorina Gomel State University (Geological and Geographical Faculty, Department of Ecology), Gomel Regional Committee of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection (Republic of Belarus), Belarusian State University, Gomel Regional Public Association of Children and Youth “ASDEMO”, Public Association “Belarusian Geographical Society”.
The conference provides an opportunity for scientists to personally discuss the work of specialists of different profiles on environmental issues, make coordinated decisions in the field of environmental safety, and widely disseminate the ideas of respect for the environment.
More than 200 participants from the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and the Republic of Belarus applied to participate in the conference.
The issues of rational nature management, environmental and radiation safety in the conditions of growing urbanization were considered at the plenary session.
On June 3, the conference will continue in 3 sections. The forum participants will discuss global and regional environmental problems, aspects of applied ecology and radioecology, geoinformation systems, methods of creating and processing spatial information. In addition, reports will be presented in such areas as socio-economic geography, biogeography, urban ecology, geochemistry, geophysics of landscapes, hydrology, ecological geology, etc.
Among the participants of the conference are schoolchildren. A section “Juniors in ecology” is provided for them.
Following the results of the scientific and practical conference, an electronic collection of materials will be published.
