Heads of seven higher educational institutions of the region, as well as Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Dmitry Aleynikov visited the Confucius Institute at Francisk Skorina Gomel State University. They got acquainted with the material and technical base, plunged into traditional Chinese culture, attended a tea ceremony, enjoyed playing the guzhen and painting in the Gohua technique.
During the plenary part, the rector of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University Sergei Khakhomov shared the experience of the university's interaction with the People's Republic of China. In particular, in December 2017 at the Shanghai Professional Institute of Industry, Commerce and Foreign Languages, a branch of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University, joint work is being carried out to train specialists in the specialty "Russian Philology". In September of this year, as part of the implementation of the joint educational program of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University with Heze University for the training of specialists in the specialty "Physics" in the People's Republic of China conducted an admission campaign, as a result of which 92 citizens of the People's Republic of China were accepted for training. Two weeks ago, a cooperation agreement was signed between GSU and Hebei University of Commerce and Economics. Speaking about scientific projects, Sergei Khakhomov stressed that 18 joint scientific projects with Chinese partners were implemented in 2011-2022. As the rector stressed, cooperation makes a great contribution to the development of the education sector of the two countries and the strengthening of friendship between peoples.
The participants exchanged views, discussed topical issues, among which they paid significant attention to the issues of patriotic education of young people. We spoke frankly about the common difficulties that we have to face when teaching foreign students.
