The Faculty of Biology became a platform for a master class by Marina Kaptsevich, the biology teacher of the highest qualification category of the State Educational Institution "School No. 8 of Gomel", on September 10. The theme of the master class was "The development of educational and cognitive competence of 8th grade students through the use of techniques for the development of critical thinking in biology lessons."
This event was held on the eve of the final stage of the republican competition of professional skills of pedagogical workers "Teacher of the Year of the Republic of Belarus", where Marina Viktorovna was a finalist. The event was attended by teachers of the Department of Chemistry and second-year students of the specialty "Biology (scientific and pedagogical activity)".
As part of the master class, a practice-oriented approach was implemented. This example will help students to check theoretical knowledge in the course of practical work in their future professional activities. After the master class, a seminar was held with the participation of the Head of the Educational and Methodological Department for organizational and methodological work with intellectually gifted and highly motivated students of Gomel Regional Institute of Education Development.
