The geography of international relations of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University is constantly expanding. At present the university has 177 cooperation agreements with foreign universities and organizations from more than 25 countries. Among the youngest partners of GSU are educational and scientific centers of Uzbekistan.
According to the Dean of the Faculty of Distance Learning and Pre-university Training, Dmitry Khodanovich, about 10 students from the sunny country study at the university. Cooperation agreements have been signed with Tashkent State University of Law, Small Military-Sports Academy "OLTIN QALQON". Scientists from Gomel and Tashkent regularly hold joint scientific conferences.
“As a result of productive interaction between educational and research centers of the two countries, applicants from Uzbekistan have a keen interest in obtaining higher education in one of the leading universities in Belarus - Gomel State University,” says Dmitry Alexandrovich.
An important role in attracting foreign students is played by the active work of the International Affairs Department to support the arrival from Uzbekistan, professional help in regulating all formalities related to the stay of foreign citizens in Belarus.
Most of the Uzbek students choose the Faculty of Law at GSU to study. This is due to the fact that in their homeland they do not have the opportunity to receiving a law degree by correspondence.
- Humoyunhon Abrorhonovich came to us from Tashkent. He already has a degree in chemical engineering, and now life has turned in such a way that he also needs a law one,” says the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Irina Esmantovich.
At the meeting at the Dean's Office, thea foreign student shared some facts of his biography:
- I work as a Deputy Chairman of the Association of Arbitration Courts of Uzbekistan, I am a judge of the 1st class and a counselor of justice of the 1st rank. I have a business - a leasing company. And I also enjoy designing ceilings.
Concurrently, Khumoyunkhon Burkhonkhuzhaev finds time to work in public positions as a legal advisor to Small Military Sports Academy and a deputy chairman of the Uzbek Liberal Democratic Party.
- I have visited many countries - Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Russia. And I want to say that nowhere have I met such hospitality as in Belarus. You are wonderful, open, sincere people! - Humoyunhon says it from the bottom of his heart.
The student has several years of study ahead, so we wish him good luck! Especially, I would like to emphasize that the management of our university, teachers and students create all conditions for foreign students to feel comfortable and safe within the walls of the university.
