The XXII Regional Open Competition of Scientific and Technical Creativity of Students “TechnoIntellect” was held at the Faculty of Physics and Information Technologies of Gomel State University. This year, for the first time, it was held in a new format: the contestants presented their projects online.
85 participants from educational institutions from 18 districts of Gomel Region and the Regional Center were registered to participate in TechnoIntellect.
- The main goal that we set for ourselves when organizing the competition is to develop students’ interest in scientific and research work in the areas of technical creativity and identify the most capable and gifted children in this area, - says Andrey Samofalov, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Physics and IT. - An important aspect of the activity can be called the involvement of researchers, teachers and students of higher educational institutions to assist educational institutions of the region in organizing work in the main areas of scientific and technical creativity.
The Scientific and Practical Conference was held in seven sections, and several teams of the jury included lecturers and students of GSU.
The winners of the competition are:

∙ Section "Technical design" – Tarasenko David (SEI "GOTSTTDiM");
∙ Section "Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Power Engineering" – Makhov Nikita (SEI "GOTSTTDiM");
∙ Section “Multimedia Technologies” – Tselovalnikova Ilona (SEI “Secondary School No. 7 of Kalinkovichi”);
∙ Section "Scientific Research and Experiment, Astronomy" – Daniil Marinovich (SEI " N.A. Lebedev Secondary School No. 44 of Gomel");
∙ Section “Informatics and Programming, Computer Engineering” – Senin Yan (SEI “Secondary School No. 10 of Zhlobin”);
∙ Section “Robotics, Automation and Intelligent Systems” – Topolev Vadim (SEI “Zhlobin Regional Center for Technical Creativity of Children and Youth”).
Summing up the results of the competition, Deputy Dean Andrei Samofalov told the children about the faculty, conducted a virtual tour of the unique laboratories, and also discussed many prospects which open up for those applicants who chose Francisk Skaryna Gomel State University as their Alma Mater.
