On February 1st, in order to improve the level of training of specialists in intercultural communications, interpreters-referents at the Faculty of History of the University, a new department of Intercultural communications and International tourism began to work. To develop a new direction of activity, the teachers of the department - the Head of the Department Tatyana Viktorovna Pochinok, a senior teacher Viktoria Yuryevna Sobolevich and a teacher Tatyana Ivanovna Ostapenko, underwent online training at Minsk State Linguistic University at the course "Practice of interpretation and translation (the English language)". The course program covered theoretical, methodological and practical aspects of scientific and technical, artistic, official-business, legal, consecutive, simultaneous bilateral translation, as well as taking into account intercultural aspects in translation activities.
The head of the Department took part in the plenary session of the International Scientific Conference "Translation Industry", which was organized in the videoconference format by the Department of Foreign Languages, Linguistics and Translation of the Faculty of Humanities of the Perm National Research Polytechnic University (Russian Federation), with which our university has been cooperating since 2017.
On February 4th, the dean of the Faculty of History Stanislav Aleksandrovich Cherepko, the head of the new department and the Head of the International relations department, Aleksandr Pavlovich Grakhotskiy, held business negotiations with Russian colleagues from the Institute of Humanities and Language Communications of Pskov State University (Russian Federation), a cooperation agreement with which was signed by the university in 2020. The issues of organizing cooperation on holding joint events in scientific, educational, methodological and educational activities, as well as scientific publication activity of students were discussed. Participation of Pskov State University in the online round table on the topic “Historical and cultural heritage of Belarus and Chuvashia. The memory of culture is eternal”, which will be organized on March 18th in cooperation with Chuvash State Pedagogical University named after I. Y. Yakovlev. The program of the event is posted here.
On February 18th, it is planned to conduct an online seminar on the topic “The role of a guide in the development of tourism in the Republic of Belarus” by the State Institution “National Agency for Tourism” for students of the Faculty of History of the University.
