At Pskov State University (Russian Federation) with the support of Sochi State University, Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers, Pskov Regional Branch of Russian Geographical Society, Pskov Regional Union of Travel Industry, the Committee for the Implementation of Cross-Border Cooperation and Tourism Programs, the Administration of the city of Pskov a Russian scientific and practical conference on the development of the Russian tourism industry was held.
Natalya Anatolyevna Ilyina, Rector of PSU, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, made a welcoming speech at the plenary session on the occasion of the opening of the conference. Natalya Anatolyevna focused on the importance of developing domestic tourism – the economy of impressions, and outlined the key foundations of the efficiency of the tourism industry at the present stage – digitalization, safety, comfort and professional staff.
The range of conference participants and topics of reports was very diverse, original and relevant (the conference program is attached). From the Gomel region of our Republic in the section "Excursion activities and branding of territories in the new reality", the common report on the topic: "Development of the tourism potential of the Gomel region of the Republic of Belarus: trends and prospects" was presented to the conference participants. The speakers were: Olga Dmitrievna Kotenkova, head of the tourism sector of the Sports and Tourism Department of Gomel Regional Executive Committee, Stanislav Aleksandrovich Cherepko, Dean of the Faculty of History of the University and Tatyana Viktorovna Pochinok, Head of the Department of Intercultural Communications and International Tourism.
The conference provided a unique opportunity to share experience in the implementation and presentation of various types of tourism, organizing tourist excursions, design and marketing routes, developing the tourism potential of Russian cities and regions, creating tourism brands and many others. We are grateful to the organizers of the conference, we hope for further cooperation with our colleagues and we are ready to make efforts to train qualified personnel for the development of the tourist attractiveness of Gomel region of our Republic!
