Sam Houston State University, United States of America and Francisk Skorina Gomel State University have been cooperating since 2018.
At the invitation of our American colleagues, Francisk Skorina Gomel State University took part in the International Scientific Conference “Universality of Global Education. Global Community – Local Strategies and Solutions”. The conference was held online at the American university on March 5-6. Francisk Skorina Gomel State University was represented by Timur Borodich, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Distance Learning and Pre-University Training, Nikolai Galinovsky, Chairman of the Trade Union Committee of the University, Tatyana Pochinok, Head of the Department of Intercultural Communication and International Tourism, and Andrey Pavlenko, undergraduate student of the Faculty of Physics and Information Technologies (technical support). The speakers from the Gomel University prepared a video presentation on the topic “Practicing of new forms of teaching at Higher Educational Institutions of the Republic of Belarus due to the epidemiological conditions: from the experience of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University”.
The report to the conference participants presented the unique academic experience of our university in organizing online education in difficult epidemiological conditions. The video report reflects the aspects of using the university’s Moodle platform for lectures and seminars at various faculties, considered the university's experience in conducting test and examination events and organizing international cooperation with foreign partners, opening new popular specialties. The authors demonstrated concrete examples of the use of information and communication technologies to the conference participants, in particular, examples of working with students at the Faculty of Mathematics and Programming Technologies, the Faculty of Foreign Languages and the Faculty of Biology were given.
The presented experience proved that, despite the difficult conditions, the university organized and continued its activities to implement quality education and maintain business relationships with international partners.
Also, the participants of the International Conference were able to get acquainted with the Gomel State University as one of the largest universities in our Republic.

The close-knit work of representatives of four faculties of our university in preparing a single speech for participation in the International Conference once again proves the axiom that a strong team is the power of thought and the power of action!
